Ancient Greek Leckythos-Vessel. Circa 4th century BCE. 43mm x 52mm. Narrow bodiy with thin neck, a single handle, and a flat rim without a pouring lip. Beautifully decoarted with a black glaze that highlights the image of a female head between vine-like scrolls. Lekythoi were used to preserve and pour perfumed oil and ointments, mainly used at baths and for funerary offerings. ex. Private UK collection. Purchased from Coincraft, 2000.
